Me + U brings together your child’s natural creativity and the vision of artist Anna McKeown to create an original abstract artwork for your home.
Following a personal consultation, Anna creates a bespoke underpainting inspired by your chosen palette and space. Your child is then invited into her Dubai studio for a private, artist-guided experience, where their spontaneous marks become part of the composition.
Anna brings the work together, carefully preserving the character and energy of your child’s contribution.

The story behind Me + U
Motherhood brought a new perspective to my practice. After time away from the studio while having my children, I returned to painting with a renewed appreciation for instinct, movement and the freedom to make a mark.
Me + U began with my son, Theodore. Watching him paint inspired me to explore how a child's spontaneous marks could become part of a contemporary abstract work, shaped through my own artistic vision.
Each painting is an original commission, created for your home and composed under my direction. Your child's contribution is held subtly within the finished piece: a personal connection to a fleeting moment in their life, expressed through a work of art made to live with for years to come.

How it works

Select a starting point from the catalogue and agree your colours with Anna.
The underpainting
Anna paints a bespoke underpainting for each child’s canvas, suited to their age and confidence.
In the studio
Your child works alongside Anna, adding paint, chalk and playful marks under her guidance. Allow 30–60 minutes.
The finished work
Anna leaves the painting to dry, then refines it where needed, preserving your child’s individual marks.

Commission for one child, or bring siblings to the same private studio visit. Each child has their own canvas; together they can form a diptych.

Six starting points
Every commission begins with one of six Pop & Toast artworks. Anna uses your chosen piece as the guide for the background she paints, with colours tailored to your home if you wish.
In the studio, your child adds their own paint, chalk and gestures, so the finished painting is completely unique.

Your commission

One child, one original 100 x 91 cm canvas.

Allow 30–60 minutes, depending on the age and number of children. We follow each child’s pace.
Payment
A 20% deposit secures your commission. The balance is due 7 days before your studio visit; for bookings made within 7 days, full payment is due on booking.

A $730 (2,700 AED) gift voucher covers one complete Me + U commission for one child: an original Pop & Toast painting on a 100 x 91 cm canvas, created in the studio with the child.
A voucher can be topped up for an additional child: + 1,500 AED ($410).

Before your studio visit
Finding the studio | Al Quoz, Dubai
A location pin will be sent before your visit. The studio is within a working warehouse setting, so don’t be surprised by the industrial surroundings. Once inside, everything will be set up and ready for you and your little artist.
Dress for paint
Please make sure your child wears clothes you don’t mind getting messy. We encourage them to explore freely, so expect paint, splashes and plenty of creative marks!
Cafe Rider
Cafe Rider is just a few warehouses down from the studio and is a lovely spot to grab a coffee or something to eat before your visit. They also have nicer toilet facilities, so I recommend that both you and your child use these before coming to the studio.
Little ones
Please note there are no baby-changing facilities at the studio, so it’s best to change little ones before arriving.
Cleaning up
Hand wipes will be used for your child to be cleaned afterwards. If they have any allergies, please make sure to bring your own.

Don’t worry about the mess. That’s all part of the experience.
