A Visit To Alserkal Avenue, An Artist Hub in Dubai

alserkal-avenue.jpg

Over the past 8 years that I have been in Dubai, the art scene has changed a lot. There is so much variety now in Dubai, with art nights at DIFC and open studio nights at Alserkal Avenue. It’s a real hub for creativity and an open space for cross-cultural diversity.

There are also now open studio spaces where you can go and work for the day or even a few weeks - which can be such an opportunity to meet other creatives, but to also have some sort of discourse.

Working as an artist, can be a very solitary practice - so being a sociable person I find it great to have somewhere to go and work with others, even if it is just for a day or two.
